POSITION SUMMARY:
The mandate of the role is to provide ongoing administration oversight of the entire Mortgage portfolio, by delivering high-quality service and efficient processes to the Bank’s Clients and internal departments to keep pace with growth and evolving business needs, as well as ensure the Bank’s collateral continues to be sound and secure by completing processes in accordance with the Bank’s policy.
MAJOR ELEMENTS OF THE ROLE:
Specific accountabilities of the job include:
Coordinate customer confirmation of property taxes and home insurance
Review home insurance policies for adequacy of coverage
Follow up to confirm payment of property taxes
Coordinate Regulatory communications as required
Apply payments, charges, and fees to client accounts, managing exceptions , escalations, etc. as appropriate
Maintain relationships and coordinate with external partners (e.g. appraisers, lenders, etc.) and internal partners (e.g. Sales Agents, Underwriting, etc.)
Ensure timely receipt and processing of required documentation, and communicate outstanding file requirements
Review and validate documentation required for processing of new mortgages for accuracy and adherence to regulations and guidelines
Process full and partial discharges of mortgage accounts
Evaluate and process severance/subdivision documentation
Review and coordinate Power of Attorney (POA) and Public Guardian and Trustee (PGT) requests
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Qualifications and Technical Expertise:
A University Degree or College Diploma
Progressive related experience, preferably in Financial Services
Knowledge of residential mortgage products and the Bank’s policies and business processes
Solid technical skills in Excel, Outlook, Word, Access
Knowledge of Privacy and AML legislation an asset
Bilingual (French and English) an asset
Attributes:
Excellent attention to detail, data analysis and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and communication skills
Well organized, effective time management and ability to independently handle high volumes of work
Ability to handle confidential client information with discretion
Focused on delivering a positive customer experience.
Working Conditions Unique to Job:
Hybrid office environment – requirement to work in office a minimum of 3 days per week.
