Summary
Diagram Ventures is launching an embedded lending platform to finance receivables at small- and medium-sized enterprises at scale. We are looking for an advisor to help the venture’s leader in expanding top of funnel engagements with ERP, EDI, and commerce platforms.
The engagement with the advisor would be part-time and could be converted into a full-time role and/or founding team position within the new venture. The advisor would work closely with the portfolio company CEO and Diagram’s venture leaders to produce the deliverables and reach the milestones mentioned below. The advisor could be compensated in cash, equity in the new venture or a mix of both.
The opportunity
Receivables financing is one of the fastest growing segments of the $35T trade finance industry. Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) lack funding to cover their working capital needs. Banks and legacy platforms have not built the tech required to onboard SMEs at scale, due to the cost involved relative to the value of financing SME flows.
Relatedly, financiers such as private credit funds seek to deploy capital into receivables based assets but do not have the infrastructure in place to do so themselves. Funds are searching for platforms that enable them to get this exposure.
We’ve spent significant time de-risking this venture and believe we have a unique angle to address these issues at scale via an embedded lending solution. The team is currently testing our solution with partners in a closed beta.
Expectations from the role
In collaboration with the venture’s CEO, the advisor will:
- Develop and execute a strategy for identifying potential distribution partners within ERP, EDI, and commerce software vendors ****
- Leverage your network and industry knowledge to initiate and nurture relationships with key stakeholders
Background and experience we look for
You’re the ideal candidate if you have:
- Previously worked for multiple ERP and commerce software in executive leadership roles with product, sales, or partnerships
- Deep understanding of the technical processes and systems currently by manufacturers, suppliers and retailers using ERP and EDI platforms
- Network within the ERP and EDI SaaS space and a track record of successful partnership facilitation
